Barbara Leonard is an English designer , well known for her vivacious designs for children and adults. Captured in her beautifully handpainted designs are all the things she loves in life. All kinds of animals , fish and birds, all kinds of plants, flowers, fruit and vegetables, all kinds of happy scenes and a multitude of images that fire childrens’ imagination Barbara says “I have always had an adventurous and happy spirit and that translates into the bright colours and subject matter in my designs. My work reflects who I am “ Barbara has a natural feel for balance of color and spacing which brings a beauty, quality and harmony to her painted designs . The overall effect has a fluidity that is very pleasing to the eye She creates designs for textiles and all surfaces . Children’s bedding, rugs, greeting cards and gift wraps, designs for tabletop and ceramic mugs are some of the many products adorned with her artwork. A selection of her mugs received a design award and are now on permanent display at the Victoria and Albert museum in London. Barbara grew up in the English countryside . This inspired her to create her lovable character Sherbet Sheep and his friends, Doodle Dog , Pearl Pig and Mango Mouse . Sherbet’s amazing garden is the delightful setting for charming illustrations and stories for young children .

Barbara has a large and varied collection of designs and welcomes commissioned work . She also sells and licenses her designs at Surtex , New York, every May, the February Spring Fair in Birmingham, England and Heimtextil in Frankfurt Germany .
